Standard Oil Pie Crust

Ingredients

8 or 9 inch one crust pie

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 Tablespoons cold water

8 or 9 inch two crust pie

  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 Tablespoons cold water

Directions

Mix flour, oil and salt until particles are size of small peas.

Sprinkle in water, 1 tablespoon at a time

Mix until all flour is moistened and pasty almost cleans side of bowl

If pastry seems dry more oil can be added (do not add more water)

Gather pastry into a ball

Wrap with Saran wrap and refrigerate 1/2 hour before rolling

Always roll oil dough between two pieces of wax paper
